Digital preparation for elective surgeries

For the most effective outcome, the preparation should be practiced over a period of 3-6 weeks before the procedure.

PrehabM
at a glance

The PrehabM app supports patients with scheduled surgery in finding their way back to everyday life and old strength as quickly as possible.

The PrehabM solution was developed with the leading scientists and physicians who have extensive experience in prehabilitation of patients. PrehabM specifically addresses the individual situation of a patient, e.g. by considering the lifestyle factors to create an individual preparation program on this basis.

For a complication-free and rapid recovery after the surgery or invasive therapies

A large number of scientific and clinical studies have shown that a number of positive effects can be achieved through targeted preparation for operations, including:
A reduction of the length of stay in the hospital by approx. 1/3
A reduction in the complication rate after surgery
A faster return to self-determined everyday life and professional life

Prehabilitation is already being practized in many countries around the world to take advantage of these benefits for both the patient and the healthcare system.

Optimal preparation for surgery is a significant factor in a reduced complication rate and length of hospital stay, as well as in the success of rehabilitation measures after surgery.

Prehabilitation can be used in a variety of interventions, e.g. in the field of oncology, in orthopedics or in cardiovascular and visceral surgeries. It is an important link between prevention and therapy, as it represents a category of interventions that occur only after diagnosis.

What exactly is prehabilitation and how does it work?

While today prehabilitation is used in some countries for a variety of indications, very different concepts are used for this purpose.

The PrehabM solution

Prehabilitation is used in some countries for a variety of interventions, but very different approaches are used for this purpose. For example, physical fitness is often trained in small groups in the hospital, while mental preparation is rarely offered. PrehabM is striving to offer a multimodal prehabilitation program with the help of a digital health application and thus achieving positive care effects for patients and a reduction in care costs. In this way, patients can prepare for their procedure at home in adequate guidance, eliminating the time-consuming and potentially painful way to exercise groups.

The multimodal preparation program consists of the following modules:

Physical training (musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and lung function)

Mental preparation (e.g. through meditation)
Nutrition (metabolism, immune system, micronutrients)
Toxic stimulants (renunciation or reduction of alcohol and tobacco)
Important: For the most effective outcome, the preparation should be practiced over a period of 3-6 weeks before the procedure.

Tailored to individual needs

The functionality of the physical exercises is adapted to the respective indication, i.e. individually tailored to the requirements of e.g. hip or knee issues.

It also takes into account the individual physical condition of the patient.
The PrehabM application has a modular structure and thus allows a quick and uncomplicated adaptation of individual prehabilitation programs.

What are the benefits of PrehabM?

The various advantages for patients, doctors, hospitals and cost bearers are evident not only in many studies, but also from the long-term experience of prehabilitation.
